Assistance League Conejo Valley

a chapter of National Assistance League®

Reaching out ~ fulfilling needs ~ improving lives

Locally recognize and provide support opportunities to members of our community with a focus on enhancing the educational success of children, young adults and those in need.

Philanthropic Programs

Chapter members manage numerous philanthropic programs.  Members come together with varied talents, backgrounds, abilities and interests during daytime hours for meetings and volunteer work.  Our philanthropic programs include:

  • Operation School Bell® is the national philanthropic program of Assistance League with nearly every chapter providing clothing, classroom provisions or other needs to elementary schoolchildren across the country..... which includes our Clothing Program, Emergency Clothing Kits, Literacy and Dictionaries...more info

  • Share-a-Bear provides teddy bears to local urgent care centers, fire departments, and shelters to be given to children in crises.
  • "I'm in Charge" is an interactive self-awareness program to educate children on home and personal safety issues.
  • Assault Survivor Kits® contain essential items of clothing and grooming aids for women and children who are referred to Ventura County's Safe Harbor East whose clothes are retained for evidence in a crime investigation.
  • Spotlight on Seniors  through its HomeMade Jammers (ukulele music) entertains seniors in our community, especially those in nursing facilities and day care centers... more info
  • "Vision for the Future" provides eye exams and eyeglasses for students in need whose families cannot afford vision care or do not have insurance. The students benefit from improved academic performance, increased self-esteem and a new view of the world around them.
  • "Make a Difference Day" five-year book collection from Assistance League® reached the goal of donating 500,000 books to local schools and worthy organizations. Our chapter collected 3668 books in 2016 which were then donated to students in five elementary schools and one middle school in our local school district.
