Assistance League of Conejo Valley is one of 120 chapters with over 22,000 member volunteers.   Unlike most national charities, our focus is on local chapter needs first. Assistance League in fact helps our volunteers realize their vision for their communities and all funds they raise stay in those individual communities to help people in need achieve a better quality of life.  Collectively all chapters have served 1.5 million with a total of $43.7 million returned to local communities. Transforming Lives • Strengthening Community

  • Provided over  $280,000 of program services in fiscal year 2019-2020 to our community
  • Provided new school clothing and shoes for 2,432 elementary, middle, and high school children in our Operation School Bell   program
  • Distributed 1,776 teddy bears to children and adults in crisis situations through our Share-A-Bear program
  • Distributed Emergency Clothing Kits to 35 elementary schools
  • Provided emergency clothing, toiletries and Hospital Emergency Necessities to 420 men, women, and children through our Assault Survivor Kits  program and 1,273 knitted hats to infants, homeless, teens, and others in need with our Hats of Hope program
  • Entertained 150 seniors at local senior facilities in our Spotlight on Seniors program
  • Tutored 50 students in reading during weekly sessions at one local elementary school in our Literacy program
  • Educated 346 third graders about how to deal with potentially dangerous situations through our I'm in Charge program
  • Donated more than 1000 books to 600 elementary school students to have in their home to promote literacy through our Reading for Life program
  • Provided 114 students with an eye exam and eyeglasses through our Vision for the Future program
  • Provided 65 adults with an eye exam and eyeglasses through our Eye Can See program
  • Community Outreach, provided school supplies and winter clothing to 47 students in the Safe Passage Youth Foundation program and during the pandemic provided 8,000 meals to families in need through a local food bank (Manna).
  • Fresh Start, our newest program, provided appropriate attire for work and job interviews for 3 individuals
  • Celebrated our eighth successful year operating a Thrift Shop, which provides consistent funds to keep our philanthropic programs viable and growing (​During the pandemic our Thrift Shop had to close on March 17, 2020 through the end of the fiscal year on May 31, 2020)


Volunteers committed to identifying unmet community needs for at-risk populations and addressing them through philanthropic programs developed and administered by our members are the heart of Assistance League of Conejo Valley.  We are a 501(c)(3) philanthropic nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian, all-volunteer organization. The money for our programs is generated from grants, donations, special events and our Thrift Shop.

In 2019-2020, 173 dedicated members and Assisteens®, an auxiliary of Assistance League of Conejo Valley, volunteered over 33,828 hours and touched the lives of more than 18,000 people in Agoura, Agoura Hills, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Westlake Village through its philanthropic programs.
