Assistance League of Conejo Valley is one of 120 chapters with over 22,000 member volunteers.   Unlike most national charities, our focus is on local chapter needs first. Assistance League in fact helps our volunteers realize their vision for their communities and all funds they raise stay in those individual communities to help people in need achieve a better quality of life.  Collectively all chapters have served 1.6 million with a total of $57.9 million returned to local communities. Transforming Lives • Strengthening Community

  • Provided about $280,000 of program services in fiscal year 2018-2019 to our community
  • Provided new school clothing and shoes for 2,648 elementary, middle, and high school children in our Operation School Bell   program
  • Distributed 3,456 teddy bears to hospitals, Urgent Care Centers, our local Assault Survivor Center, foster kids in crisis, and local fire and sheriff stations in our Share-A-Bear program
  • Distributed Emergency Clothing Kits to 34 elementary schools
  • Provided emergency clothing, toiletries and Hospital Essential Needs to 420 men, women, and children through our Assault Survivor Kits  program and 1259 knitted hats to infants, homeless, teens, and others in need with our Hats of Hope program
  • Entertained 1000 seniors at local senior facilities in our Spotlight on Seniors program
  • Tutored 65 students in reading during weekly sessions at one local elementary school in our Literacy program
  • Educated 550 third graders about how to deal with potentially dangerous situations through our I'm in Charge program
  • Donated more than 2000 books to elementary school students to have in their home to promote literacy through our Reading for Life program
  • Provided 161 students with an eye exam and eyeglasses through our Vision for the Future program
  • Provided 30 adults with an eye exam and eyeglasses through our Eye Can See program
  • Celebrated our seventh successful year operating a Thrift Shop, which provides consistent funds to keep our philanthropic programs viable and growing


Volunteers committed to identifying unmet community needs for at-risk populations and addressing them through philanthropic programs developed and administered by our members are the heart of Assistance League of Conejo Valley.  We are a 501(c)(3) philanthropic nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian, all-volunteer organization. The money for our programs is generated from grants, donations, special events and our Thrift Shop.

In 2018-2019, 178 dedicated members and Assisteens®, an auxiliary of Assistance League of Conejo Valley, volunteered over 33,000 hours and touched the lives of more than 12,000 people in Agoura, Agoura Hills, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Westlake Village through its philanthropic programs.
